Janet K. Museveni, the Minister of Education and Sports, has sent off 18 students who will participate in the 2023/24 Huawei Global ICT Competition and the Seeds for the Future Program.

This competition brings together 17,000 students from 98 countries around the world. From Uganda, three students each from the Universities of Gulu, Kabale, and Muni have been selected to participate. Additionally, five students from Makerere University are among the ten students set to join the 2024 Seeds for the Future Program later this year.

The Huawei Global ICT Competition is an important international event that helps students from different countries showcase their skills and learn from each other. The Seeds for the Future Program is another significant initiative by Huawei that aims to develop young ICT talent and bridge the gap between theory and practice.

These programs provide valuable opportunities for Ugandan students to gain exposure, improve their ICT skills, and potentially open up new career paths in the future.
