Speaking to our reporter from the school premises situated at Adagayela Village, Boke Ward, Lira City East Division, Dr. Patrick Olet expressed his satisfaction, noting that 8 students scored distinction ones throughout.

He extended his gratitude to the high-performing students such as Abble Rossie Abel, Odur Rogers, Okello Isaac Abili, Okello Isaac, Okello Raphael, Opoo Emmanuel, among others, all of whom attained an aggregate of 8 for the best 8 subjects.

Dr. Olet commended the parents for their cooperation with the school administration and for instilling discipline in the students of St. Gracious Secondary School (SAGRAS).

Looking ahead to 2024, Dr. Olet expressed optimism for even better performance from the current S.4 candidates, attributing this expectation to the competence and commitment of the school’s teachers.

He encouraged members of the public to engage with the school administrators to further enhance St. Gracious’ reputation as a leading secondary school in academic excellence in Northern Uganda and beyond.

Other schools that performed exceptionally well include St. Katherine Girls, with 80 first-grade scores out of 262 candidates who sat for the 2023 UCE examinations, and Lango College, which saw 19 candidates achieving Division One out of 487 candidates.

Comboni College also fared well, with 22 candidates securing Division One out of 149 candidates, while Dr. Obote College Boroboro produced 93 candidates in Division One out of 143 who sat for the UCE examination in 2023.

The UCE results were released by the Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Katha Museveni (First Lady), from Nakasero on Thursday.

Dan Nokrac Odongo, the UNEB Secretary, noted a reduction in examination malpractice, albeit with a few schools still engaging in such practices.
