Amudat, Uganda:  A joint security of police and Army have launched a hunt for the group of yet to be identified armed rusttlers who shot dead four travelers in Amudat district.
The incident that took place on Sunday at 3pm in Lemusui road within Akonguyo village, Amudat sub county in Amudat district shows that although disarmament exercise is still on going but many guns are still in the hands of wrong criminals  in Karamoja.
Mr.Micheal Longole the Karamoja regional police spokesperson said the victims were traveling in  Motorvehicle Reg. No. UBP 601Q Toyota Harrier black in colour.
” Our  team of detectives  visited the scene together with a canine dog and established that all the four victims are from Mbale, no arrest made,”he said.
According to Mr. Longole, some tangible evidence were  recovered and statements were recorded from witnesses to support  investigations.
He said the  bodies were conveyed to Amudat Hospital mortuary for Postmortem and collection by the relatives.
He added that the motive of the  murder is yet to be established adding that the inquiries are yet to be established.
This publication has learnt that the community in Karamoja are becoming too sensitive to isues concerned land where by any new visitor moving in any fertile area they assume they are looking for land
