Gabonese President Brice Oligui Nguema Arrives in Uganda

On Thursday, August 1, 2024, President Brice Oligui Nguema of Gabon arrived in Uganda for a three-day private visit. His plane landed at 1:00 p.m. at Entebbe International Airport.

Upon arrival, President Nguema was warmly greeted by Uganda’s Foreign Affairs Minister, General Jeje Odongo. Also present to welcome the Gabonese leader were Defence Minister Jacob Oboth-Oboth, Lands Minister Judith Nabakooba, Deputy Chief of Defence Forces Lieutenant General Sam Okiding, and other senior government officials.




President Nguema was accompanied by the First Lady of Gabon, Zita Oligui Nguema, and a high-level delegation that included the Deputy Prime Minister and several cabinet ministers.




During the welcome ceremony, President Nguema and his wife were entertained by a local cultural dance group, which showcased traditional Ugandan performances.
