One of Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah’s trusted aides seems to have pulled a Houdini in the land of the free and the home of the brave in a twist worthy of a Hollywood mystery. Emmanuel Atwiine, a long-standing bodyguard to the Prime Minister, reportedly went missing during an official visit to the United States of America (USA). Rumors are swirling faster than a rolex stand at lunchtime about his sudden disappearance.

It all began innocently enough, with Atwiine accompanying the Prime Minister to New York City for official engagements. However, things took a bizarre turn when he failed to show up for breakfast after a supposed slumber in a Manhattan hotel. Concern quickly escalated to panic as calls and texts to Atwiine went unanswered faster than a call for service in Uganda’s customer service lines.

The situation escalated to DEFCON 1 when hotel staff found Atwiine’s room deserted, with only his luggage as evidence of his previous presence. Witnesses swear they saw a shadowy figure resembling Atwiine fleeing the scene faster than a boda-boda dodging traffic. Could it be that Atwiine decided the concrete jungle of New York was more appealing than Uganda’s savannahs?

Speculations abound regarding Atwiine’s whereabouts, with some suggesting he’s living it up in Chicago, known for its gusty winds and deep-dish pizza. Whether he’s exploring the Windy City or chasing the American dream, one thing’s for sure – Atwiine’s disappearance has left the Ugandan delegation scratching their heads more vigorously than government leaders trying to resolve the traders’ strike back at home.

Back home, officials are scrambling faster than chickens escaping a butcher’s knife to explain the inexplicable. Charles Odongtho, the Prime Minister’s spokesperson, confirmed the disappearance but offered as much clarity as a muddy puddle. “Yes, it is true the prime minister’s bodyguard disappeared… but what can we do? Maybe he’s just living his best life in America, who knows?” he mused.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is singing a tune more somber than a lugubrious dirge. Permanent Secretary Vincent Bagiire called the incident “unfortunate” and expressed hopes for Atwiine’s safe return, though he neglected to mention whether they would throw him a welcome back party or a farewell bash.

Atwiine’s disappearance echoes a similar incident involving Parliament Speaker Anitah Among’s bodyguard, Aggrey Aruho, who vanished into thin air during a trip to California. It seems Uganda’s official delegations have a knack for losing their security detail faster than a Ugandan politician loses their promises after elections.

As investigations unfold, one can’t help but wonder: Is this a case of a disillusioned official seeking greener pastures abroad, or are there darker forces at play?

In the end, the mystery of Atwiine’s disappearance remains as puzzling as Uganda’s traffic jams – nobody knows when it will clear up or where it’s headed. Until then, the saga continues, leaving Ugandans and Americans alike wondering: where in the world is Emmanuel Atwiine?
