In a strong show of commitment to maternal wellbeing, ICEA LION Life Assurance has committed Shs7 million towards the 5th edition of the Moms Gather Conference, reaffirming its dedication to supporting women and mothers at every stage of life.
The conference, scheduled for May 9 at Speke Resort Munyonyo ahead of Mother’s Day celebrations, is expected to bring together more than 200 mothers, expectant women, and aspiring mothers under the theme, “To Nurture and Be Nurtured.”
The event aims to create a supportive environment where women can reflect, connect, and receive care in recognition of the critical role they play within families and communities.
Speaking during the announcement, Ann Njeri Njugi, Chief Operations Officer at ICEA LION, said mothers remain central to shaping society and deserve intentional support.
“Mothers have power. They shape the next generation,” Njugi said. “At ICEA LION, we walk with women at every stage of life. This partnership allows us to create a space where women not only receive support but also learn about solutions designed specifically for them.”
As part of its broader commitment to women’s wellbeing, ICEA LION continues to promote initiatives such as the Lioness Plan, a product tailored to women’s health needs. The plan provides access to critical healthcare services, including cancer screening and antenatal support, reflecting a growing shift toward preventive and wellness-focused insurance solutions.
The conference will feature wellness zones, spa experiences, health talks, and nutrition sessions led by professionals, creating what organizers describe as a space for healing, learning, and renewal.
According to Sharon Byereta, Deputy Manager Operations at ICEA LION, the sponsorship reflects the company’s long-term vision of empowering women through practical and accessible support systems.
“Our care for women has led us to design solutions that truly respond to their needs,” she noted. “This is about ensuring that mothers have access to services that protect their health and their future.”
Founded in 2022 by Lisa Kusiima Mugisa and Daisy Musingye Kisakye, Moms Gather has evolved into a growing community of more than 500 mothers who share experiences, offer encouragement, and support one another through the journey of motherhood.
Kisakye welcomed the partnership, saying the sponsorship would enable more mothers to attend and benefit from the knowledge, mentorship, and support provided during the conference.
The event will also attract notable guests, including Allen Kagina of the Uganda National Roads Authority, highlighting the increasing national attention being given to maternal health and wellbeing.
