Just In! St. Mary’s College Mayenze Celebrates Outstanding 2025 UCE Results & Introduces Half-Bursary Opportunities for Bright and Talented Students Joining S.1 & A-Level

St. Mary’s College Mayenze has once again proven its dedication to academic excellence with an impressive performance in the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations. Following the official release of results by the Ministry of Education and Sports, the entire school community celebrated with pride. A total of 134 candidates sat for the examinations, and their achievements reflected commitment, discipline, and consistent academic growth.

The school attained remarkable cumulative subject grades, recording 64 Grade A’s, 231 Grade B’s, 1,020 Grade C’s, and 158 Grade D’s. These outcomes highlight strong performance across subjects, with many learners earning distinctions and credits. Notably, every candidate successfully completed their examinations, a testament to the quality of instruction, effective supervision, and the supportive learning environment provided by the school.

This success was the result of deliberate effort. The institution continues to prioritize continuous assessment, organized revision programs, and close academic follow-up. Teachers remain committed to guiding learners carefully, identifying challenges early, and providing timely support. Parents also contribute significantly by promoting discipline and maintaining strong collaboration with the school. This collective partnership has yielded results that truly demonstrate excellence.

Building on this achievement, the school has introduced an innovative half-bursary program aimed at supporting even more bright and talented students. This initiative ensures that financial limitations do not hinder academically gifted learners from accessing quality education, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to equal opportunity and excellence.

Through the new bursary scheme, students who exhibit exceptional academic ability or excellence in sports qualify for a 50% tuition fee reduction. The program specifically benefits learners who obtained aggregates between 4 and 14 in the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), creating opportunities for many promising students to pursue further education without overwhelming financial strain.

To further support families, the school offers a 2% discount on fees paid within the first two weeks of the term. This initiative assists parents with better financial planning while enabling the school to maintain smooth operations and high teaching standards throughout the year.

The 2026 academic year will also feature enriching practical learning experiences. Students will take part in educational tours to key historical and geographical sites, including visits to the Parliament of Uganda. These activities are designed to enhance learners’ understanding of governance, civic responsibility, and national development, making education both practical and impactful.

Academic achievement is further encouraged through a structured reward system. Students who attain seven or more distinctions receive cash prizes of UGX 50,000 or partial tuition waivers, motivating them to strive for higher standards and maximize their potential.
Beyond academics, the school extends compassionate support to students facing personal hardships. Orphans who have lost their fathers are granted a 50% fee reduction, while those who have lost their mothers receive a 25% discount. This support reflects the school’s holistic approach and commitment to ensuring that every learner has an opportunity to succeed.

Spiritual and moral formation remains a cornerstone of school life. Through daily prayers, Scripture Union activities, and regular Mass, students cultivate discipline, integrity, and strong values. Additionally, student welfare is a priority, with balanced meals provided to all learners and boarders benefiting from specially planned weekly menus to promote proper nutrition.
By blending academic excellence, financial assistance, practical exposure, student care, and spiritual guidance, St. Mary’s College Mayenze continues to nurture confident, disciplined, and future-ready leaders.
