Kabale Muslim Council Pushes for Improved Funding for Local Health Center

Byamukama Libino, Kabale District – The Kabale District Muslim Council has expressed their dissatisfaction with the government’s neglect of Kirigime Health Center III in the allocation of PHC (Public Health Care) funds, despite the facility embracing all government programs.

This concern was raised over the weekend by the Kabale District Khadi, Sheikh Kabu Lule, during the inauguration ceremony of the new management committee for Kirigime Health Center III in Southern Division, Kabale Municipality.

Speaking to our reporter, Sheikh Kabu Lule expressed significant concern about how the health center is being excluded from PHC funding, despite offering the same services as Rushoroza Hospital and Rugarama, which serve Catholic and Protestant communities, respectively.

He added that Kirigime Health Center III operates 24 hours a day and is in urgent need of a theater.

Byaruhanga Muhammad, the new chairperson of Kirigime Health Center III, pledged to lobby for a health camp aimed at providing surgeries next year.
