Kabale University Receives 1,700 Tree Seedlings from Mutebile Foundation Ahead of Graduation

The Mutebile Foundation has donated 1,700 tree seedlings, valued at over UGX 10 million, to Kabale University ahead of its graduation ceremony scheduled for tomorrow at the university grounds. Ms. Betty Mutebile, widow of the late Prof. Mutebile and Executive Director of the Mutebile Foundation, stated that this initiative honors the memory of Governor Mutebile while promoting environmental conservation and skills development.

“This initiative will not only contribute to a greener environment but also promote good health within the community through the fruits yielded by these trees and the development of tree-planting skills,” Ms. Mutebile added.




Ms. Edina Nyakaisiki, CEO of the Mutebile Foundation, explained that the donated trees include various fruit species, such as oranges, grafted mangoes, Hass avocados, guavas, and more.




Prof. Joy Kwesiga, Vice Chancellor of Kabale University, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Mutebile Foundation during the handover ceremony at the university grounds in Southern Division, Kabale Municipality.




“Of the 1,700 trees donated, 100 are designated for the university and 1,600 for the graduands,” Prof. Kwesiga noted.

Angella Atuheire and Dr. Frank Michael Tweheyo Ssalongo, representatives of the Tumusiime Mutebile Foundation, emphasized that distributing tree seedlings to the university and graduands aims to instill environmental consciousness within the community.
