Amolatar, Uganda –  The headteacher of Namasale Technical School, Canon Moses Ogwal, has been elected as the new clan chief of Atek Olimakwanga.

Ogwal’s popular leadership in the education sector and his exemplary contributions to the Atek Olimakwanga chiefdom led to his election by thousands of clan members. He was chosen to succeed the late leader in a competitive election.




Bonny Okello, the Chairperson of the Election Commission, declared Ogwal the winner, confirming his eligibility for the role.




In a press statement, the newly elected clan chief emphasized his commitment to prioritizing education as a means to reduce poverty within the clan. He also pledged to promote peace and unity among clan members. With a proven track record in leadership, Ogwal plans to implement initiatives supporting both formal and informal education to improve the livelihoods of clan members.




Additionally, the proud clan chief announced his intention to work collaboratively with clan members to establish a cultural heritage center.
