An ex top member of the National Unity Platform top command has challenged supreme party leader, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to reign in on his embattled deputy president, Dr Lina Waru Abaku Zedriga after reports emerged she has secretly been meeting with General Muhoozi Keinerugaba.
An audio recording emerged online suggesting that Zedriga has had past closed door dealings with President Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s government through General Muhoozi Keinerugaba, also leader of Patriotic League of Uganda( PLU).
According to veteran journalist, Din Lubowa Saava, Zedriga met with a certain renowned regime insider believed to have been sent by General Muhoozi. The alleged meeting took place in June last year at hotel in Makerere, a city suburb.
Moses Bigirwa, popularly known as General Bigirwa has tasked Bobi Wine to subject his errant Deputy to a strong punitive action akin to the one he (Bigirwa) suffered when he was fired from his powerful Eastern Uganda Coordinator last year.
Bigirwa, who was axed on allegations of plotting against Busoga Kyabazinga Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope’ November wedding arrangements says it will be highly unjust should Zedriga be allowed to continue “eating from the high table” as me who was accused without clear evidence I continue grassing.
” My President should come out and hold Zedriga accountable. There is very impeccable evidence that she meets with both General Salim Saleh and Muhoozi. How can such a person continue eating from the high table as we are grassing over baseless allegations?” Bigirwa wondered.
The renowned NUP foot soldier also questioned the manner in which the party has handled its fallout with former LOP Mathias Mpuuga which he says is drawing a wedge in the party’s cohesion rather than building it.
He specifically queried Zedriga’s approach to the saga who he argued that her questionable loyalty to the party makes her the very last person to handle the matter. The fire spitting self styled General singled out the one week ultimatum Zedriga issued to Mpuuga to answer questions about the service award at Parliament, arguing it wasn’t done in good faith.
” First of all, her hands are dirty. She is a known government agent. Even delegating her Presidential powers by Bobi Wine was a mistake. See how she hurriedly issued the ultimatum as if to make sure her boss doesn’t have enough time to review his decision.” Bigirwa stated.
