Gen Muhoozi Says All Road Contracts in Uganda Require His Approval

Kampala, Uganda — Muhoozi Kainerugaba has stated that all road construction contracts in Uganda will now require his personal approval, a directive he announced through his official social media account.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Muhoozi said the decision was final and would not change, stressing that all road contracts must pass through him going forward.

“I’m going to say this today and it will NEVER change. All and every road contract in Uganda need MY approval from now on,” he posted.

He added that those who doubt his directive would “discover truth,” without providing further details on how the new approval process would be implemented.

The statement comes amid ongoing public debate over road infrastructure quality in Uganda, with concerns frequently raised about substandard works, corruption, and delays in project delivery.

However, no formal government communication has yet been issued to confirm any change in the official procurement or approval procedures for road contracts.

The announcement has already sparked widespread discussion online, given the strategic importance of road infrastructure in national development and public service delivery.
