KAMPALA, Uganda —Panic has allegedly gripped the camp of the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Ms. Anita Annet Among, following reports that all soldiers providing security at her Kololo residence were withdrawn.
According to allegations from a highly placed source, the withdrawal of the soldiers was carried out this afternoon under unclear circumstances.
The source further alleges that the Speaker was not informed about the development prior to the withdrawal of the security personnel.
This publication has also learnt that the Speaker may not be among the officials expected to receive guests at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds during the swearing-in ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni tomorrow, although this information could not be independently confirmed.
By the time of filing this story, this publication had not obtained an official statement from the security authorities regarding the alleged development.
