Dr. Diana Atwine, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, stood in somber reflection as she addressed the tragic loss of one of their own.
In a heartfelt tweet, she expressed her sorrow, “It is so sad we have lost our staff Gloria Natukunda at such a young age. A very committed young lady with a lot of positive energy.”
Dr. Atwine mourned not only the loss of a dedicated team member but also a vibrant soul within the Ministry. “I condole with Gloria’s family and the @MinofHealthUG family, especially our @MOHCallcenterUg staff where she has been working.”
Gloria shot to game during the global COVID-19 pandemic when she featured in the dailies talking about her passion to serve at such a challenging time when the world was in lockdown and her department became a beehive.
The call center, often bustling with the compassionate voices of healthcare support, has lost a devoted person. Dr. Atwine’s tweet served as both a eulogy and a promise to remember and honor the positive impact Gloria had on the Ministry’s mission.
“Rest in Peace Gloria,” she concluded, a poignant farewell to a colleague whose dedication and positive energy would be dearly missed.
