The Office of the President recently issued a one-month ultimatum to Spider Contractors Ltd to complete the 2.9 billion shilling Gopele Seed Secondary School in Obongi District.
Spider Contractors Ltd was awarded the contract to construct Gopele Seed Secondary School in Gimara Sub-county, Obongi District, with the project initially scheduled for completion by December last year.
The RDC, Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka; Inspector of Schools, Abubaker Longa Sam; Site Engineer, Matege Stuart; ARDC, Umuhoza Habiba Furaha; and the Obongi RDC, Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka, conducted a monitoring visit earlier this week and found the school at 90% completion. The school is being funded by the Government of Uganda and is now nearing completion as expected.
The Managing Director of Spider Contractors Ltd, Mr. Nicholas Jemba, said he is committed to completing the school within a month so that students can begin using it in the third term of 2025.
RDC Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka commended Spider Contractors Ltd for the quality of work being done.
The project, valued at over 2.9 billion shillings, marks the first seed secondary school in Obongi District, located in Gopele Parish, Gimara Sub-county.
Obongi currently has only two government-aided secondary schools.
