One Dead, Two Injured in Kole District Motorcycle Accident

Kole, North Kyoga Region – The North Kyoga Regional police spokesperson, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, has issued a statement regarding a serious accident that turned fatal in Kole District.

One unidentified person reportedly died upon arrival at Lira Regional Referral Hospital on December 31, 2023, following an accident at around 18:30 hours along Lira-Kamdini highway at Apii trading center in Kole District.

It is alleged that a motor vehicle with Registration No UAV 196V, a white Toyota Premio, heading from Lira City towards Kamdini, collided with a rider carrying two passengers on motorcycle Reg No UFT 878J, traveling in the opposite direction. All three individuals sustained serious injuries and were promptly rushed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.

Sadly, the rider was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, while the other two victims are still undergoing treatment at Lira Regional Referral Hospital.

Both the motor vehicle and motorcycle have been impounded at the police station in Kole CPS pending inspection by the IOV.

The scene of the crime was visited by the OC Traffic and his team from Kole CPS, as stated by SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the PRO of North Kyoga police Region.
