The Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah, addressed Italian investors at the 5th annual summit for the European Corporate Council on Africa and the Middle East (ECAM) held at the Westin Hotel in Rome, Italy. During her keynote address, Prime Minister Nabbanja briefed the investors on the various investment opportunities in Uganda and urged them to consider partnering with the country.
Nabbanja emphasized that Uganda provides a conducive environment and favorable policies for investors to engage in profitable business transactions. She positioned Uganda as the best investment hub in East and Central Africa, highlighting numerous advantages available to potential investors.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of establishing coffee value-addition factories in Uganda, encouraging investors to contribute to value addition in the coffee sector, which would, in turn, create employment opportunities for Ugandans. She echoed the President’s call for trade and partnerships instead of relying on aid.
During the summit, Prime Minister Nabbanja engaged in bilateral talks with various investors, advocating for investments in Uganda’s industrial sector to enhance the value of Ugandan products. Notably, she met with Filipo Prosperi, the Business Development Director and board member of De Lorenzo company, a leading Italian company specializing in technical and vocational training equipment. Discussions included technological transfer to Uganda.
In addition to the summit, Prime Minister Nabbanja held productive meetings with the director of the Italian Confindustria at their headquarters in Rome and explored various avenues for collaboration.
