Rwampara Youth Leaders Rally Behind HE Museveni Ahead of 2026 Presidential Bid

Rwampara District has already received UGX 8.9 billion for Parish Development Model (PDM) initiatives, benefiting 29 groups, including youth organizations. This was highlighted by Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC) Tukwatanise Musa as he urged youth leaders to mobilize support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s 2026–2031 presidential bid.

On Wednesday, October 14, 2025, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Youth League District Executive and the National Youth Council District Executive in Rwampara held a joint meeting at the NRM District headquarters in Kinoni Town Council. The meeting aimed to strategize on mobilizing youth support for HE Museveni.

ARDC Tukwatanise Musa, who served as the chief guest, emphasized the importance of patriotic support over monetary incentives. He cautioned youth leaders against being motivated by campaign money, warning that this could lead to a loss of trust from elders if they switched allegiances for financial gain.

“If you want to mobilize for HE Museveni because of money, it means when another candidate comes with more money, you can easily be bought. This is dangerous for a youth since it makes our elders lack trust in us,” Musa said.

Musa also called on youth leaders to lead anti-corruption efforts within the district and encouraged them to stay informed about local affairs.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, Musa noted, “NRM and President Museveni have already released over UGX 8.9 billion to 29 PDM groups where youths are among the beneficiaries. For continuity of this great initiative, I encourage you to mobilize for HE Museveni and vote for him with over 98%.”

Youth leaders expressed their gratitude to Musa for his guidance and to President Museveni for appointing a youth representative to Rwampara. Ian, Vice Chairman of the NRM Youth League, praised Musa, saying, “Musa, you are an inspiration to many of us and indeed we now have hopes that HE Museveni can deploy young informed people to big offices.”

The sentiment in Rwampara is clear: the district stands firmly behind President Museveni, who is seen as deeply connected to the area, symbolized in the metaphor of sowing a mustard seed — a testament to his roots and growth from Rwampara.
