Brigadier General Daniel Kakono, the commander of the Field Artillery Division, has given advice to officers and soldiers in the division. He told them not to take loans unless they have plans for projects that are stable and sustainable.

Brigadier General Daniel Kakono, the commander of the Field Artillery Division, has given a warning to the officers and soldiers under his command. He cautioned them against taking loans unless they have sustainable projects in place.

Brig Gen Kakono shared this advice during a two-day workshop organized by the Wazalendo Savings and Credit Co-operative Society. The workshop took place at the Field Artillery Headquarters in Masindi.

He recommended that the officers and soldiers identify successful individuals within their units and formations who have used products from the Sacco. By doing so, they can learn from their peers’ experiences and skills, which will help them make informed decisions.

The Chief Executive Officer of Wazalendo Sacco, Col Noseph Freddy Onata, explained to the members and delegates that the workshop aimed to bridge the gap between Wazalendo’s mission and the practical work being done on the ground. It was designed to connect the theory of Wazalendo’s products with the real-life projects undertaken by the members.

Col Onata emphasized the need for monitoring and evaluation to determine how much Wazalendo Sacco has provided to its members and what tangible projects have been initiated. He also stressed the importance of improving members’ financial well-being in alignment with Wazalendo Sacco’s mission.

Col Onata encouraged members to learn from their successful peers about starting small with minimal capital and growing their projects over time. He also called upon the delegates to set a positive example in their units and formations by educating other members.

The workshop had attendees from various ranks, including Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, and Delegates.
