Jinja – BUL FC emerged victorious against Busoga United, clinching a 1-0 win in a Thursday match at the Njeru based FUFA Technical Center. The decisive goal was netted by Alex Kitata in the 31st minute.
The game statistics revealed a closely contested match, with Busoga United holding a 51% ball possession compared to BUL FC’s 49%. Despite fewer shots, BUL managed to convert one of their three attempts into the sole winning goal.
Alex Kitata’s goal proved crucial, and BUL FC’s head coach, Abbey Kikomeko, credited the victory to a comprehensive strategy, acknowledging the competitive nature of Busoga United’s play. Kikomeko highlighted the familiarity between the teams, with several key players at BUL FC having previously played for Busoga United.
Reflecting on their current league standing, Kikomeko emphasized the need for unique planning for each upcoming game to maintain their lead in the league.
On the other side, Busoga United’s head coach, Peter Onen, acknowledged his team’s dominance in creating goal-scoring opportunities. However, he attributed the loss to the unpredictable nature of football, emphasizing the role of luck in securing a win.
