VIDEO: Mbarara City Fc Locked Out at FUFA Technical Centre Ahead of BUL Fc Clash

Njeru, Wakiso — There was a brief moment of confusion Friday morning when Mbarara City FC appeared locked out of the FUFA Technical Centre ahead of their Uganda Premier League Matchday 21 clash against BUL FC.

A video captured by journalist Brian Kawalya showed the visiting team’s bus parked outside the main gate of the stadium in Njeru, with players appearing stranded after finding the entrance closed.

The clip quickly circulated online, prompting reactions from fans and football commentators. However, officials and local voices dismissed the incident as a routine stadium procedure rather than an attempt to block the visiting team.

BUL FC officials jokingly brushed off the situation, suggesting it looked like an “intentional move to be stranded,” while other observers clarified that visiting teams are typically directed to a side gate that leads straight to the dressing rooms.

Football commentators including Duke of Kitende and Allan Damba explained that such arrangements are common at the venue, noting that teams are usually guided through alternative entry points rather than the main gate.

Mbarara City were later allowed to enter the stadium through the designated access point, and preparations for the fixture continued without any delays.

The match eventually kicked off at 4 p.m. East African Time, with BUL FC entering the game in eighth position with 30 points, while Mbarara City sat 13th on the table with 16 points, both sides seeking valuable points to boost their league standings.

After a tightly contested encounter, the match ended in a goalless 0–0 draw, with both teams sharing the points in the Uganda Premier League fixture.
