MBALE CITY – The Umukuka of the Bamasaba, His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma, will host a grand celebration for thousands of his subjects on Friday, July 31, to mark the third anniversary of his coronation.
The spokesperson of the Bamasaba Cultural Institution, Steven Masiga, said the colorful event will be held at Mt. Elgon Hotel in Mbale City and will bring together invited guests from different parts of Uganda and beyond.
Masiga said attendance at the ceremony will be strictly by invitation. Expected guests include traditional and cultural leaders, members of the business community, the media fraternity, selected Members of Parliament, and invited local government leaders.
He noted that the celebrations have been made possible through the support of well-wishers from across the country, adding that a detailed list of contributors will be released after the event.
According to Masiga, the anniversary will provide the Umukuka with an opportunity to present his strategic development plan for the Bamasaba Cultural Institution while highlighting the achievements registered during his three years on the throne.
His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma was officially gazetted as the Umukuka in August 2023, following the resolution of the cultural leadership dispute. Since then, he has led efforts aimed at strengthening unity among the Bamasaba people, promoting cultural heritage, and advancing development initiatives within the institution.
The third coronation anniversary is expected to be one of the largest cultural gatherings in the region this year, with organizers promising a memorable celebration that reflects the unity, traditions, and aspirations of the Bamasaba community.
