President Museveni ordered the dismissal of six senior engineers at the Ministry of Works based on the information he said he was briefed on.
The dismissed officials include Eng. Ronald Olaki, Stephen Kitonsa, Rogers Kisambira, and others.
President Museveni is not a man who rushes to do something without a clear picture. However, when you look at the cause of all this, it’s all about infighting within the Ministry of Works aimed at failing other officials who had almost taken up top positions in the Works Department.
Look at Eng. Ronald Olaki. Reliable information we have obtained is that he was a clear front-runner for the top job in the ministry, but because the insiders had also preferred their relatives for the same position, they had to create false allegations against Eng. Olaki.
The allegations of Eng. Olaki causing a delay in the construction of the Masaka–Mutukula Road, where he has been the Resident Engineer, could be false because it has been established that the delay on the Masaka–Mutukula Road was caused by outdated designs that were prepared way back in 2018.
When you read the explanations by Eng. Kitonsa, who is among those dismissed or retired in the public interest, to the President, it clearly shows that weevils have recently entered the Ministry of Works, and there was a need for our lovely President to listen to these dismissed officials.
To me, there’s a lot of hidden truth that has not yet been revealed to the President surrounding the Ministry of Works.
