Mbale City, Uganda — The spokesperson of the Bugisu cultural institution has confirmed that His Highness, the Umukuka III, Jude Mike Mudoma, has distributed iPads, each valued at approximately Shs 3 million, to all LC V chairmen-elect from the Bugisu region.
According to Masiga, His Highness recently held a high-level planning meeting with LC V chairmen from Bugisu at the cultural institution offices in Mbale City. During the meeting, the Umukuka presented brand new iPads to chairmen-elect from Namisindwa, Bududa, Sironko, and Mbale District. Those who were unable to attend the meeting are expected to collect their iPads from the cultural institution offices.
The iPads were donated to the Bugisu cultural institution by UBOS to support data collection from clans, schools, and other cultural activities. Masiga emphasized that the donation is intended for the cultural institution itself, not for local governments. The Umukuka III is distributing the devices as a goodwill gesture to his community.
“The iPads will also be used by ministers in the cultural institution, clan chairmen, and some media officials attached to the institution. Any remaining devices will be allocated at the discretion of the Umukuka,” Masiga said.
This initiative demonstrates the Umukuka III’s commitment to strengthening cultural administration and supporting local leadership in the Bugisu region.
