Christmas cheer turned into unimaginable sorrow for a family in Kamwenge district after a suspected attack by armed individuals claimed the lives of three innocent people. The incident, which occurred in Nyabitutsi village, left the community reeling in shock and grief.
Adrine Ngwabiiji, a beloved elder, and her two young grandchildren perished in the attack. Their home was reportedly set ablaze, adding another layer of devastation to this senseless tragedy. Adding to the pain, livestock – ten goats and five cows – were taken by the attackers.
This grim event comes in the wake of another deadly attack that claimed ten lives near the Kibaale forest just a week earlier. The victims, reportedly protecting their crops from wildlife, were met with an unthinkable fate.
President Yoweri Museveni strongly condemned the incidents, attributing them to a remnant group of armed individuals believed to have recently crossed from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He urged vigilance and reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens.
