On March 21, 2025, in an exciting move, women in Pakwach District added their voices to the global celebration of International Women’s Day.
Globally, International Women’s Day was celebrated on March 8, 2025.

In Uganda, celebrations were held in Kyankwanzi District under the campaign theme ‘Accelerate Action for Gender Equality,’ and were graced by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

As one of the districts in the West Nile subregion, Pakwach District has been undergoing several economic and social reforms, which have seen women and girls rise to prominence on the national stage.

While commemorating this day, women in Pakwach District applauded the President of Uganda, H.E. Kaguta Museveni, for providing women with platforms in political, social, and economic fields, helping many women achieve their dreams.

However, women in Jonam Constituency expressed their dissatisfaction with having an area Member of Parliament from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).
“We have lost many opportunities because of tainting our area as opposition, yet all privileges are within the ruling party, NRM,” a patriot from Jonam emphasized.

Collectively, the women in Jonam Constituency have vowed to endorse and vote for Hon. Epiphany Beracan to represent their voices in the 12th Parliament (2026/31).

Hon. Epiphany Beracan has served in various fields, including as a Commissioner in the Ministry of Finance, which underscores his commitment and patriotism to serving his motherland. He is known for his outstanding integrity and honesty, and as a result, the country has benefited from his contributions.

The people of Jonam believe it is the right time for an NRM cadre, Hon. Epiphany, to represent their voices in the top legislative body.

Information from Jonam Constituency indicates that Epiphany has initiated many projects in the area, including a hospital that is benefiting people across the entire Pakwach District.

There is still much more to unveil, and Epiphany remains the best NRM candidate who will eliminate opposition in Jonam Constituency and bring Pakwach District to the national stage for development.
