Open Letter to Baba Wa Taifa, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa
Baba Wa Taifa, allow me to congratulate you for having successfully selected the Cabinet to carry out part of your delegated mandate of leading Uganda into a middle-income economy/country from 2026 to 2031.
We are aware that you chaired the first Cabinet meeting on Monday, 29th June 2026, during which you emphasized streamlining service delivery to Ugandans and implored all your ministers from the different ministries to work for Uganda’s socioeconomic transformation.
The direction is clearer. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) government is working towards set targets, goals, and deliverables embedded within the National Development Plan (NDP) and the NRM Manifesto.
However, the majority of Ugandans are now living in fear, living under intimidation.
Largely, not because of poverty or internal wars by rebels against the established government, but because of the avenger!
Your avenger is taking us at turbo speed! Commandos are picking people everywhere. Even with just a mere tweet on X (formerly Twitter), one risks being taken to something called the basement!
People are scared even to hold some leaders accountable. Media houses are being shut down, and activists who talk a lot are being picked up or hunted like grasshoppers!
Backbench Members of Parliament like Mr. Daudi Kabanda are giving orders and intimidating citizens.
Mr. Andrew Mwenda, who once branded you a senile leader/President, is nowadays making orders for different institutions to implement…
Who is really who in this country, Uganda?
Some Ugandans on different media platforms are asking, “Who is leading this country?”
Your Excellency, Y.K. Museveni, you and your colleagues went to the bush to bring peace, democracy, the rule of law, freedoms, and liberties to be enjoyed by all Ugandans. This legacy, Uganda has achieved over the last three decades under your leadership of the NRM government.
This legacy is being put to the test!
Today, we see individuals in PLU being more powerful than state institutions!
People even in the deep villages of Butogota and Kilima in Kanungu, Bundibugyo, Adjumani, Amudat, Yumbe, Kalangala, and across all borders of Uganda are getting scared! The future is becoming bleak for some Ugandans, even when we have laboured to tell them that H.E. Y.K. Museveni is still in charge and has the people’s social mandate.
Please send us a comforting signal, a signal of greater hope for posterity.
Perhaps, you must start thinking about coming back on the ballot in 2031 and beyond! We are scared! We live in fear! #M7Komawo2031
