A man in his 20s was arrested at Manchester Airport on Friday evening after he boarded an easyJet flight bound for Milan without having the correct travel documents. The incident occurred shortly before the scheduled departure of flight EZY2127 at around 7 p.m.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called to the scene after it was discovered that the individual had “incorrectly” boarded the aircraft. He was taken into custody on suspicion of attempting to hide in the aircraft without consent and for recklessly causing a public nuisance. As a standard security measure, all passengers and their luggage were removed from the plane for additional checks.

According to officials, nothing suspicious was found on the aircraft, and there is no indication that the incident was related to terrorism. The passenger remains in police custody as investigations into the matter continue.

In response to the incident, easyJet released a statement confirming that the flight was subjected to extra security checks due to the unauthorized boarding. The airline emphasized its commitment to safety and security, adding that it would be working closely with its ground partner at Manchester Airport to determine how the man managed to board the flight.

Manchester Airport also issued a statement, assuring the public that the passenger had been properly screened by security before entering the boarding area. They confirmed that passenger safety was never compromised and that they would collaborate with the police and easyJet to investigate the breach.

While the situation caused delays for the passengers on board, the aircraft was eventually cleared for departure after the security procedures were completed, and there was no further disruption to the flight schedule.
