Two Rifles Recovered After Theft from Pride MicroFinance in Kabale

On Monday, November 20, 2023, two rifles were recovered after they were stolen from security guards at Pride MicroFinance offices in Kabale District.

According to Kigezi Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate, five unidentified assailants broke into Pride Microfinance Bank at around 1:30 am and stole two SR-guns with 14 rounds of ammunition, the property of Saracen.




The assailants attempted to break the bank’s safe but were unsuccessful and were intercepted before they could flee.




Maate stated that an aggravated robbery case was registered by the victim guards, Bategana Estafano, 38. The Homicide team led by D/IP Magara Richard, DEP CID officer, and team visited the scene.




Statements from relevant witnesses were obtained, and the two guns were recovered with nine rounds of ammunition within the bank building.

The guard who reported the robbery was detained by officers to assist in investigations. An aggravated robbery case was registered at Kabale Central Police Station under the file number CRB 894/2023, and inquiries are ongoing.
