Bible Society of Uganda Donates Braille Bible and Christmas Gifts to Visually Impaired Community

The Bishop of Diocese of Kigezi, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, received a Braille Bible from officials of the Bible Society of Uganda at All Saints Church in Kabale town. Mr Peter Serumaga Lumbuye, the general secretary, and Mr Christian Aliddeki, the board chairman, presented the Bible before distributing early Christmas food gifts to over 100 visually impaired individuals.

The Bible Society of Uganda contributed a Shs2 million Braille Bible to the Diocese of Kigezi, aiming to promote evangelism and reading culture among visually impaired students. Mr Serumaga and Mr Aliddeki handed over the Bible to Bishop Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, emphasizing the importance of spiritual support for visually impaired Christians and students at Hornby High School, founded by the diocese.




Explaining the motivation behind the donation, Mr Serumaga referred to the biblical passage in Job 29:15, stating, “I was eyes for the blind.” The Bible Society of Uganda expressed privilege in providing food items to approximately 100 visually impaired individuals as a goodwill gesture for a joyful Christmas. Mr Serumaga urged the public to consider becoming life members of the Uganda Bible Society, emphasizing that this is a meaningful way to extend assistance to those in need.
