Film actress Cleopatra Koheirwe has expressed her dismay at actors who are not actively engaged on set, asserting that their lack of involvement slows down the shooting process and turns the film set into a challenging environment.

The actress, renowned for her portrayal of ‘Eunice Kintu’ in the popular TV series Prestige, conveyed her disappointment in a recent interview, suggesting that such actors not only hinder their career progression but also negatively impact the overall film project.

“We are all here to work, and yet some actors seem to be more interested in playing around, asking unnecessary questions, and it genuinely irks me,” she remarked.

Cleopatra implied that unprofessional behavior during auditions can lead to missed opportunities for some actors. She underscored the importance of humility, noting that auditions might bring them into contact with the film’s director or other influential individuals.

In addition, Cleopatra highlighted the significance of accepting smaller roles in films, emphasizing that these roles often serve as stepping stones in an actor’s career. She expressed frustration that many emerging actors dismiss these opportunities, mistakenly believing that their ascent depends solely on securing prominent roles immediately.

“You can’t become a great actor without starting from the bottom,” Cleopatra stressed.

Reflecting on her own journey in the entertainment industry, Cleopatra began as a singer in the popular music, dance, and drama group Obsessions. She later transitioned to roles in the media and eventually joined the film industry. Her prominence increased through the Prestige TV series, where she assumed a leading role.

Cleopatra has also been featured in notable films such as Ssekukkulu: A Ugandan Christmas, The Last King of Scotland, Reflections, Be The Judge, and Yogera.
