Dokolo, Uganda:
Ambassador Paul Amoru, a Ugandan diplomat stationed in Pretoria, has spearheaded a vigorous campaign for the NRM flag bearer in Apye village, Apye parish, Adok sub-county, Dokolo District.
His Excellency Ambassador Paul Amoru has significantly altered the political landscape in Dokolo District, where the NRM party appears poised for victory. Voters are gearing up to welcome His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Museveni Kaguta, on March 19, 2024.
With the voting date fast approaching, NRM heavyweight Ambassador Paul Amoru has intensified efforts to rally support for NRM party flag bearer Janet Adong Elau. On Sunday, he canvassed for votes in favor of the NRM party at Adok sub-county, accompanied by notable figures like Felix Okot Ogong, among others.

During an exclusive interview with the media on Sunday, Amoru stressed the importance of remaining loyal and supporting President Yoweri Museveni and the ruling party. The president is expected in Dokolo District on March 19, 2024, at Amatiburu P/S and Iguli primary school, where he will campaign for the flag bearer.
Amoru emphasized bringing the idea of ‘Ubuntu’ from South Africa, where Nelson Mandela preached reconciliation after his release from prison. Efforts are reportedly underway to persuade some independent candidates to step down and support the NRM flag bearer, aligning with the party’s ideology.
Amoru, who hails from Dokolo, has bolstered support among the electorate, highlighting NRM’s achievements such as regional agricultural development and the one billion shillings Kacung water project in Dokolo. Felix Okot Ogong added that NRM played a significant role in combating the LRA insurgency in Lango, with President Museveni’s support for the Amuka boys.
Meanwhile, Adong Elau highlighted pressing issues facing Adok residents, including poor road infrastructure, lack of clean water, and electricity shortages, which she pledges to address if elected.
In a surprising turn of events, Dr. Lalam Anna Grace’s Personal Assistant, Mr. Boney Alilo, confirmed that she has stepped down in favor of the NRM party candidate just three days before the polling date. This decision was made during a reconciliation meeting held in Nwoya District at around 3:00 AM on Monday.
One of Dr. Lalam’s campaign agents, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that she had faced pressure from certain quarters since her nomination. Stepping down was deemed necessary for her political future.
Dr. Lalam Anna Grace could not be reached for comment as her phone number was unavailable at the time of press.
