President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni convened a significant gathering known as the Kisozi Cabinet Meeting in the Kisozi area. Addressing fellow Ugandans and specifically the Bazzukulu, the President shared insights from the meeting held on Friday, May 24th. The event brought together various dignitaries and stakeholders to discuss socio-economic advancements and challenges in Uganda.

Among the attendees were representatives from nine villages surrounding the President’s ranch, along with government officials, parliamentarians, religious leaders, district chairpersons, and dairy farmer delegations from Ssembabule and Gomba. The objective was to showcase the partial success achieved in realizing the NRM vision of socio-economic transformation.

During the meeting, dairy farmers from Ssembabule and Gomba shared their success stories, indicating significant improvements in milk production. Some farmers reported selling up to 1,500 liters of milk per day, contributing substantially to their annual incomes. President Museveni emphasized the remarkable transformation witnessed in the cattle corridor, spanning numerous districts across Southern Uganda.

The President highlighted the need for further advancements, particularly in transitioning from free-range farming to zero-grazing methods. This shift aims to optimize agricultural productivity and enhance financial returns for farmers. The success stories presented underscored the positive impact of socio-economic transformations on improving living standards and empowering communities.

President Museveni also discussed initiatives to boost intensive agriculture, emphasizing the importance of high-value activities such as coffee cultivation, fruit farming, and dairy production. Efforts to implement these strategies have yielded promising results, evident in success stories like that of Kalera in Kigumba village.

Additionally, the President outlined plans to upscale successful models like the Kisozi approach nationwide. With every parish receiving financial support, opportunities for agricultural development and economic empowerment are being extended to communities across Uganda.

The meeting concluded with a visit to the Kisozi farm, renowned for its indigenous Ankole cattle. President Museveni emphasized the importance of preserving Uganda’s heritage and rejecting the worship of foreign entities.
