A Nigerian Catholic Priest, Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, opines that many of the conflicts and killings throughout history were related to disputes over sexual relationships.

In a post shared on his Facebook page, Fr. Ugwu wrote:

“In 1 Kings 21, Ahab, with the help of his wife Jezebel, seized the land belonging to Naboth after Jezebel conspired to have Naboth killed so that Ahab could take possession. Where are Ahab and Jezebel today?

In 2 Samuel 11, David took Uriah’s wife and made her his wife after getting Uriah killed to have Bathsheba as his permanent wife. Where are David and Bathsheba today?

In Mark 6, Herod killed John the Baptist to please his wife and her daughter, who danced for him at his birthday party. Herod’s wife was the same woman he took from his brother Philip. Where are Herod and Herodias today?

Most of the conflicts and killings in history were connected to disputes over mating rights, with men and women fighting over these rights or lovers conspiring to commit evil. Where are they all today?

Some of you reading this may be engaged in bitter fights, even hating your own family and friends because of a woman; some may be insulting and plotting evil against your friends just because of a man… Some of you may be allowing your partner to manipulate you into doing evil just to maintain your relationship rights… I urge you to ask yourself, are these fights, malice, bitterness, and evil plans truly worth it?

Please reconsider your actions…
