NUP Activist Rose Mugarurirwe Found Dead in Mubende

The opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) is mourning the death of one of its activists, Rose Mugarurirwe, whose body was found in Mubende District.

Rose Mugarurirwe, an activist associated with the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP), has been discovered deceased in Mubende District under puzzling circumstances. She hailed from Bukasa in Muyenga, Kampala.




Derrick Nyeko, the Member of Parliament for Makindye East, expressed his condolences to the residents of Kisugu and Bukasa, as well as the NUP community in Makindye, over the tragic loss of Rose Mugarurirwe. Nyeko expressed his sorrow at her brutal death at the hands of unidentified individuals, which led to her body being left in Mubende District, far from her home in Bukasa Kanyogoga.




Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident. Rose Mugarurirwe had previously run for the position of Woman Councillor in Makindye East during the 2021 general elections. Nyeko called on the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and provide a comprehensive report on the circumstances surrounding her untimely passing.
