Popular Ugandan singer Alien Skin has been charged with robbery and accused of assault, in incidents that have sparked public criticism and drawn attention to his controversial behavior.

(Kampala) – Local singer Patrick Mulwana, widely known as Alien Skin, has been formally charged with robbery in connection with an incident in Makindye Division, Kampala. According to police records registered under CRIS No. 2489/2024 at Katwe Police Station, the artist allegedly robbed Salim Mubiru on September 28, 2024. The stolen items included an iPhone 15 Pro worth UGX 3.5 million, UGX 480,000 in cash, and a wallet containing Mubiru’s national ID.

Appearing in court on Wednesday, Alien Skin denied the charges. The state prosecutor, Henry Twinomujuni, informed the court that investigations were complete but requested an adjournment. Grade One Magistrate Esther Adikini remanded the singer to custody until December 9, when the case will be mentioned again.

Salim Mubiru, the alleged victim, expressed relief over the progress of the case, describing the ordeal as harrowing. “It was a traumatic experience, but I am glad the authorities have taken action. I hope justice will be served,” he told the press.

This robbery case is not Alien Skin’s only legal challenge. On Tuesday, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting medical staff and security guards at Nsambya Hospital. The incident reportedly involved members of his Fan Gone Forest Entertainment group, who allegedly attacked hospital employees after the death of their colleague, Joram Tumwesigye.

Details of the Assault Incident

The altercation at Nsambya Hospital was reportedly sparked by the death of Tumwesigye, a member of Fan Gone Forest Entertainment, who had been admitted after an accident near the group’s Makindye headquarters. Tumwesigye’s death escalated tensions, leading to the alleged assault.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, Alien Skin and his group confronted medical staff, demanding medical forms. When their demands were unmet, the group reportedly attacked Dr. Zaidi Matovu and security guards Anthony Muyanda and Alex Odongo.

Footage circulating on social media depicts Alien Skin and his group in a heated argument with hospital staff, with some appearing to physically confront employees. A victim in the video recounted the overwhelming nature of the assault. “I was trying to call my people to come and rescue us because these people were very many,” he said.

The incident left Dr. Matovu and the two security guards injured, drawing widespread condemnation online. Many Ugandans have demanded swift legal action against Alien Skin and his associates.
