Soroti, Uganda– Captain Mike Mukula, the incumbent National Resistance Movement (NRM) Eastern Region Vice Chairperson, is receiving overwhelming backing from key party figures as he seeks re-election in the upcoming polls.
Prominent NRM leaders, including Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, Government Chief Whip Dennis Hamson Obua, Dokolo South MP Felix Okot Ogong, and NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong, Sam Engola, Mrs Betty Engola and Betty Oteng have publicly rallied delegates to support Mukula’s bid.

Dr. Aceng praised Mukula’s leadership, stating, “Captain Mukula has been instrumental in mobilizing support for the NRM in the Eastern Region. His experience and dedication make him the right candidate to continue serving in this role.”
Government Chief Whip Obua echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing Mukula’s role in strengthening the party’s grassroots structures. “He understands the dynamics of our party and the region. We need continuity, and the delegates should stand with him,” Obua said.
Secretary General Todwong highlighted Mukula’s loyalty and mobilization skills, calling him “a unifying force in the NRM Eastern Region.”

Beyond Eastern Uganda, Mukula’s campaign has gained traction in other regions, with delegates and local leaders expressing confidence in his ability to deliver NRM’s agenda. Speaking at a recent rally, Mukula pledged to enhance service delivery, strengthen party discipline, and advocate for development projects in the region. “I am committed to ensuring that the NRM remains strong in the East. Together, we shall continue to champion President Museveni’s vision for prosperity,” he said.
