Twizire Nobert popularly known as Nobert Events has officially withdrawn his candidacy for the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) elections. In a statement to the National Resistance Movement (NRM) National Executive Committee, Mr Nobert thanked party leaders for ensuring an open and democratic candidate selection process.
Acknowledging party leadership
Mr Nobert expressed gratitude to Alhaji Moses Kigongo, First Deputy National Chairman of the NRM, and to the entire National Executive Committee for demonstrating a high level of democracy by allowing broad participation and giving many members the opportunity to stand as candidates.
He noted that this inclusive approach contrasts with past practices of endorsing particular candidates and commended the party for the transparent process.
Focus returns to community service
Having taken time to reflect on where he can best serve his community, Mr Nobert announced his decision to withdraw from the EALA race and redirect his efforts toward the upcoming Local Council elections. He described the local polls as a vital opportunity to work directly with his village and address grassroots needs.
A commitment to the people
Mr Nobert framed his shift in focus as a continuation of his public service mission, one that prioritizes tangible, local impact. By contesting the Local Council elections, he aims to bring his experience and community-driven approach to local governance and development initiatives.
Looking ahead
As Mr Nobert prepares for the Local Council campaign, he thanked supporters for their encouragement and pledged to remain actively engaged in the political process. He encouraged party members and residents to participate in the democratic process at all levels, from local councils to regional bodies.
