NRM’s Director for Mobilisation, Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, has applauded the people of Bukedi subregion for turning up in large numbers to welcome President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as he launched his 2026 campaign trail in Pallisa District.

Seninde said the rally was not only massive but also deeply inspiring because of the testimonies shared by young people who have benefited from the President’s Skilling Hubs across the country.

“Many of these youths told us that they had dropped out of school after being chased for school fees,” Seninde said. “But when they joined the skilling hubs established by the President, they gained hands-on skills and are now earning a living. This shows that if we continue on this path, even more Ugandans—especially those who can’t get government jobs—will find work and build better lives.”

She added that the testimonies from the youth in Pallisa reflect the tangible results of government programs aimed at empowering communities and reducing unemployment.

Seninde also highlighted the people’s appreciation for the improved infrastructure, including good roads and newly established industrial hubs in Bukedi, which she said are key to transforming the region’s economy.

“The people spoke from the heart,” she noted. “They thanked the President for the peace, the roads, and the opportunities being created in their subregion.”

Calling on Ugandans to safeguard the country’s progress, Seninde urged citizens to vote wisely in the upcoming election.

“On January 15, let us not be deceived by those hoodwinking us with empty promises,” she said. “The peace we enjoy today and the stability of our country cannot be compared to what’s happening in places like Sudan or Somalia. We left that chaos behind and must never go back.”

Seninde concluded by reaffirming her confidence that the people of Bukedi and Uganda at large will continue to stand behind President Museveni, whom she described as the “pillar of peace and progress.”
