Uganda Presidential Campaign Roadmap 2025/2026- Know Where Your Candidate Will Be And When

The Electoral Commission has released the official campaign programme for all eight presidential candidates contesting in the 2025/2026 elections. The roadmap spreads across the country, beginning in late September 2025 and running into January 2026, with short breaks during Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

*Campaign Start*

Kick-off:29th September 2025

Candidates begin their campaigns from different districts across the country.

For instance, Museveni starts in Munyonyo, Kasibante in Mityana, Kyagulanyi in Jinja, Muntu in Buikwe, and Mafabi in Kawempe.
From there, the teams spread across Buganda, Busoga, and northern Uganda, moving daily to new districts.

October – The Nationwide Sweep

Throughout October 2025, all candidates cover major regions including: Luweero, Iganga, Jinja, Hoima, Fort Portal, Kasese, Mbarara, Gulu, Soroti, Mbale, and Masaka.
Each candidate has a unique trail, but all are structured to reach both urban and rural strongholds.
By mid-October, Museveni is in Rukiga, Kyagulanyi campaigns in Kalungu, while Muntu pushes through Butambala and Mpigi.

November – Eastern and Northern Focus

In early November, the spotlight shifts to Soroti, Ngora, Bukedea, Sironko, Kumi, and Mbale.

Mid-November takes them further north into Pakwach, Nebbi, Zombo, Adjumani, Arua, Koboko, and Yumbe.
By late November, candidates loop back into central Uganda with stops in Kyadondo, Kampala municipalities, and Wakiso.

December – Western and Central Domination

Early December sees campaigns in Kasese, Bundibugyo, Buliisa, and Fort Portal.
By mid-December, the trail heads into Mbarara, Ntungamo, Kisoro, Kabale, Rubanda, and Rukiga.
Christmas Break: From 24th – 26th December, campaigns pause for the festive season.

January – Final Lap

Campaigns resume on 27th December 2025, running into Kampala suburbs and key municipalities like Nansana, Entebbe, Kira, Kawempe, Rubaga, and Makindye.
Early January 2026 is dedicated to the capital city and greater Kampala area.

Closing: The final rally is scheduled around 12th January 2026, just before polling.

Key Highlights

Balanced Coverage: Each candidate is allocated different districts daily, ensuring no direct clash in the same place.
Holiday Breaks: Campaigns officially pause for Christmas (24th–26th Dec) and New Year (31st Dec–1st Jan).
Urban vs Rural Strategy: Kampala, Masaka, Jinja, Gulu, Mbale, and Mbarara are reserved for the final phase, signaling their importance in mobilization.

This programme ensures that all candidates traverse the country within the given timeframe, balancing regional fairness and holiday respect.
