The leadership of the National Unity Platform (NUP) in Kasese District has reason to smile as they have received clearance from top security officials to welcome their party president, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, on August 30, 2023, which is today, Wednesday.
NUP leaders have informed our reporter that they have taken all necessary measures to ensure a warm welcome for their party president, Bobi, as he arrives for official duties.
Mr. Brian Basisa, the district chairperson of the party, expressed his happiness at the security’s decision to allow the visit of their party president.
The Chief Mobilizer for Busongora South NUP, Hon. Jackson Mbaju Kathika, has called upon all NUP supporters and well-wishers to come and witness Bobi Wine’s appearance in Kasese town. He urged supporters to adhere to all the guidelines provided to ensure the success of the day.
Hon. Kathika added that Bobi Wine’s visit is not intended to intervene in OBR matters; rather, he will be present for their party activities.
According to Mr. Jonen Bamwenda Bwambale, the NUP Mobilizer in Kasese, they are expecting a large turnout of people, regardless of their political affiliations.
Meanwhile, the President of the National Unity Platform-NUP has pledged to provide free maternal health services to Ugandan women. Kyagulanyi addressed hundreds of NUP supporters in Fort Portal Tourism City on Tuesday afternoon, shortly after inaugurating NUP offices.
Kyagulanyi, who expressed gratitude for the support of Ugandans, stated that the time had come for Ugandan women to receive specialized maternal healthcare in order to reduce the maternal mortality rate.
