President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the President of Uganda, distributed two tractors, disc harrows, and ploughs to teachers and healthcare workers in Adjumani District. This agricultural equipment was delivered by Jane Barekye, the State House Comptroller, during a ceremony held at Biyaya Playground in Adjumani District.

President Museveni has consistently emphasized the importance of commercial agriculture and value addition as a means for Ugandans to stabilize their household incomes and create wealth for prosperity.

Jane Barekye, while presenting the machinery to the recipients, stated that this initiative is part of the government’s efforts to improve the livelihoods of salaried workers by encouraging them to engage in commercial agriculture alongside their regular employment.

She also assured the recipients that President Museveni, through the government, will continue to provide such equipment to Ugandans, enabling them to generate alternative sources of income.

Barekye said, “Our President is a dedicated leader who has provided these tractors to teachers and healthcare workers, allowing them to engage in commercial agriculture to enhance their livelihoods. As a government, we aim to establish measures that create opportunities for people to increase their household income.”

The delivery of these agricultural machines fulfills President Museveni’s recent promise to teachers and healthcare workers in Adjumani District. Hon. Jessica Ababiku, the Woman Member of Parliament for Adjumani, expressed her gratitude to the President for supporting the district’s teachers and healthcare workers, recognizing the significant impact it will have on their lives.

Mr. Taban Peter Data, the Resident District Commissioner of Adjumani, stated, “The availability of these two tractors will enhance agricultural productivity in the district, leading to improved lives for our healthcare workers and teachers.”

During the event, the people of Adjumani presented a shield and spear to Jane Barekye as a symbol of their continued confidence and trust in President Museveni’s leadership of the country.
