(Wakiso) – Police are investigating the deaths of four family members in Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District, after the bodies were found in their home on November 15, 2024.
In a tragic incident, Simon Nyanzi, a 40 year old motorcycle taxi operator, and his three young children were found lifeless in their home in Masanda Cell, Kyengera Town Council. The victims have been identified as Simon Nyanzi, his 8 year old son Pius Kabanda, his 7 year old daughter Priscilla, and his 2 year old child Praise.
The discovery was made by concerned neighbors who noticed that Nyanzi had not opened his door and that his children were absent from their usual caretaker. When the neighbors investigated, they found the door to the house closed but not locked. Inside, the family members were found lying on a bed, fully clothed, and unresponsive.
The incident was quickly reported to local authorities, and the police responded by collecting statements from witnesses and transporting the bodies to Mulago City Mortuary for a post-mortem examination. The police have yet to identify any suspected substances or foul play at the scene.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, confirmed that investigations are ongoing. He also mentioned that Nyanzi’s mobile phone was found at the scene, but all contacts had been deleted. Onyango added that the mother of the deceased is currently working abroad in the Middle East.
The police in Nsangi are continuing their efforts to understand the cause of this heartbreaking tragedy.
