In a disturbing case in Luwero district, the director of Kings Palace Primary School has been arrested by the police in connection with the suspected defilement of six pupils. The allegations have raised significant concerns within the community.
Sam Twiineamazima, the Savannah Regional Police spokesperson, revealed that the director’s arrest followed a report made to the police on October 25, 2023. Six cases of alleged pupil defilement involving the suspect triggered immediate investigations.
The suspect, identified as Jona Sebamanya, has been taken into custody. Additionally, the police are actively pursuing another suspect who is currently on the run, making ongoing efforts to apprehend him.
Twiineamazima provided details of the alleged incidents, stating, “The territorial Police in Luwero are holding a school director to help in investigations in an alleged defilement case that occurred between the month of September 2023 and October 2023 in areas of Kakokolo electoral village and in Kikubajinja Village in Luwero District.”
He further added, “The victims are aged between 13 to 17 years. Relevant statements have been recorded from witnesses. Police medical forms have been issued to the victims, and all have been examined. According to our medical reports, it has been established that only 3 pupils aged 17, 14, and 15 years were sexually abused.”
All the victims involved in this distressing case are pupils at Kings Palace Primary School, and notably, they are Primary Seven candidates.
As the investigation unfolds, detectives are working to retrieve relevant documents to confirm the ages of the victims. Currently, the suspect, Jona Sebamanya, is being held at Luwero Central Police Station while the police investigation continues. The case has prompted widespread concern and calls for justice within the community.
