The consecration and enthronement of Rev Canon Suubi are scheduled for November 19, which will be a significant event held at St Stephen’s Pro-Cathedral in Bugiri District.

The Bishop of Busoga Diocese, Bishop Naimanhye, called upon the congregation to extend a warm welcome and provide unwavering support to the incoming Bishop as he takes on his new role in the East Busoga Diocese. The service also saw the installation of five new Reverend Canons who will serve in the newly-established East Busoga Diocese. These clergymen, entrusted with important roles, include Rev Canon James Christopher Kivunike, Rev Canon Tony Richard Musota, Rev Canon Charles Timbuza, Rev Canon Denis Wasswa Maliro, and Rev Canon Timothy Wata.

The service featured a sermon by The Rt Rev Bishop (Rtd) Johnson Gakumba of Northern Uganda, who emphasized the significance of maintaining one’s identity while serving God. He reminded the newly-installed Reverend Canons that they now hold pivotal roles in the Church ministry and urged them to exercise great care in their service to the Christian community.

Bishop Gakumba also advised the Canons to prioritize serving the people of God over relishing in their titles.

Mr. David Aga Isabirye, the Jinja North Member of Parliament, extended congratulations to the newly installed Canons and expressed his commitment to collaborating closely with them in their ministries.

Additionally, Mr. Richard Gulume, the Jinja Resident District Commissioner (RDC), encouraged the Christian community to embrace the East Busoga Diocese Bishop-elect and the newly installed Canons as they embark on their respective roles in service to the Church and its members. This event marks a significant moment in the religious landscape of the East Busoga Diocese, signifying new beginnings and spiritual leadership.
