Dr. Edward Ddamulira’s academic journey began at Makerere University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. His thirst for knowledge propelled him to further his studies, leading him to pursue a Master’s degree in Accounting from the prestigious University of Dar es Salaam. His academic pursuits culminated in a PhD in Financial Management, during which he focused on public sector accounting and its implications for national development. This solid educational foundation has equipped him with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of Uganda’s financial systems.
Before his recent appointment, Dr.Edward Ddamulira amassed over a decade of experience in various financial roles within both the public and private sectors. His career began as an auditor, where he honed his skills in financial analysis and accountability. He later transitioned to roles that involved policy formulation and implementation, playing a significant role in shaping fiscal strategies that promote transparency and efficiency in government spending. His previous position as a senior financial consultant allowed him to work closely with international organizations, further enhancing his expertise in global financial practices.
He has aimed to foster an environment of financial integrity and inclusivity, ensuring that the benefits of economic growth reach all corners of Uganda. He is particularly passionate about enhancing government accountability and improving budgetary processes to better serve the Ugandan people. His approach emphasizes collaborative efforts with stakeholders to innovate solutions that address the pressing financial challenges facing the nation. He understood the vision of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Ddamulira is a devoted family man. He enjoys spending quality time with his family, often engaging them in discussions about the importance of education and civic responsibility. In his spare time, he is an avid reader, with a particular interest in economic literature and biographies of influential leaders. His commitment to lifelong learning reflects his belief that education is the cornerstone of sustainable development.
