Job Vacancy: ADAPT Project Seeks Data Management Assistant

Makerere University, in conjunction with six other African Institutions and two German counterparts, has secured support from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for the Research Networks for Health Innovations in Sub-Saharan Africa (RHISSA). A pivotal component of this endeavor is the African One Health Network for Disease Prevention (ADAPT) project, dedicated to building One Health Research and Capacity. This project aims to foster sustainable stewardship of Antimicrobials through Post-doctoral, PhD, and MSc training, accompanied by capacity-building workshops.

Data Management Assistant Role




ADAPT is currently in search of a proficient Data Management Officer for the project. The chosen candidate will be entrusted with responsibilities encompassing data storage, records management, information dissemination, as well as planning and tracking the activities of the project fellows, including maintaining time sheets.




Person Specification




To qualify for this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in any field, along with a postgraduate certificate in project management, human resource management, or records management. Additionally, evidence of excellent ICT skills, including proficiency in databases, MS Word, spreadsheets, and web applications, is required. Prospective candidates should also demonstrate prior experience as a research or program assistant in any project. Competencies in person and organization management are essential, coupled with values of integrity and high motivation. The ability to work under pressure to meet set goals and deadlines is also crucial.
