This situation has, however, raised concerns among residents regarding their safety. There have been reports of firearms being in the hands of unauthorized individuals recently. Incidents of armed robberies involving unaccounted firearms have occurred lately.
A notable recent robbery by shooting transpired in Ntinda, a suburb of Kampala, where one Tugume Albert Cook, brother of Kampala’s deputy lord mayor, Doreen Nyanjura, was shot dead by assailants who subsequently robbed him.
