Gulu District experienced peaceful Christmas celebrations thanks to consistent sensitization, community policing, and mobilization efforts conducted by the RDC’s office, the Police, and other stakeholders.
“I want to express my gratitude to the UPDF and Police for maintaining peace and security during the Christmas celebrations,” stated Gulu RDC Cosmas James Okidi. “Special appreciation goes to Major General Felix Busizoori and RPC Afande Samuel Asiimwe for their excellent work.”
“Today, December 26, 2024, I am in Paicho Police Post, overseeing our deployment and visiting officers at their various posts,” added RDC Okidi.
He applauded the NRM government, led by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, for ensuring peace and security across the country.
On December 25, 2024, RDC Okidi visited health facilities across Gulu District to assess their functionality during the Christmas period, as part of the district security committee’s mandate.
“I am pleased to report that all facilities visited were operating normally, with health staff conducting deliveries and dispensing medication to patients,” said RDC Okidi. “Numerous deliveries were observed across health facilities throughout the district. The dedication and service-oriented attitude displayed by the health staff are commendable.”
