All Saints School, Rotary Club Offer Lifeline Through Free Health Camp to Rubirizi Residents

Rubirizi District | Uganda — All Saints Preparatory School, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Kinawataka, has conducted a one-day free medical camp in Rubirizi District as part of efforts to give back to the community.

The outreach, held at the school premises in Nyakasharu, aimed at promoting health awareness, improving access to basic medical services, and encouraging positive mindset change among learners and parents.

Speaking during the event, the Resident Director of the school, Madam Ninsiima Engrid, said the initiative was part of the institution’s corporate social responsibility, focusing on empowering the community through both education and health services. She emphasized the importance of good health, hygiene, and quality education, noting that these are key pillars in shaping responsible and successful learners.

Madam Ninsiima also urged students to avoid unhealthy habits such as alcohol consumption, smoking, and early relationships, which she said negatively affect their academic performance and overall well-being. She encouraged students to prioritize their health, manage stress, and remain focused on their studies for a better future.

She further called on parents and learners to embrace such initiatives with commitment and openness, describing the program as a step towards strengthening community ties and improving standards of living.

The medical camp offered a range of free services, including testing and treatment for HIV, hepatitis, malaria, diabetes, as well as dental and eye care. Beneficiaries also received hygiene products, sanitary pads, and medication under the “Alive Again Project,” which seeks to bring communities together while promoting sanitation and personal hygiene.

Mr. Wabuteya Kenneth, Project Coordinator for the Rotary Club of Kinawataka, highlighted the importance of such medical camps in early disease detection and prevention. He noted that the initiative would help reduce healthcare costs for families while promoting healthier lifestyles within the community, and encouraged learners to remain disciplined and work hard in their studies.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Karuhanga Muhammad, expressed gratitude to the organizers for the free medical services, noting that many residents struggle to access healthcare due to financial constraints, especially transport costs.
